A bill to protect artists’ individuality for copyright and monetization has been passed

Currently, there is a bill waiting to be voted on called the “No Fakes Act". If passed it would make it illegal to produce a digital version of an individual without their consent regardless of the media’s market value. This law has essentially already been passed in Tenessee with the ‘Elvis Act’ designed to protect artists. This will hopefully start the process of enforcing AI and make it more managed and ethical.

AI music is predicted to make 3 billion dollars by 2028

AI Music is predicted to be worth 3 billion dollars by 2028. Currently, AI music is worth $300 million, which means its value will multiply by 10 in the next 4 years. New money hopefully comes with more job opportunities to code and improve new AI. It will also hopefully make a larger budget to study and expand AI, hopefully leading to more laws and regulations around the technology and hopefully before soon AI could be used just as any other tool.

Open AI creates an AI that can mimic a human voice

The company that developed Chat GPT, the language model chatbot, has developed an AI that can mimic a human voice with only 15 seconds of human speech. The new technology, called Voice Engine, was intended to be paired with Sora, the video-generating AI. Open AI has made several blog posts addressing the legal issues associated with the project. In their posts, they said, “We recognize that generating speech that resembles people’s voices has serious risks, which are especially top of mind in an election year”. The release of this project has been postponed due to an open letter signed by hundreds of musicians, which calls for stricter regulations on AI with music.
